The Adobe Construction Technique
Our adobe homes built at El Batan, are designed for the climate of the Ecuadorian Andes mountains. The houses are built entirely by hand, with adobe (sun dried bricks made out of clay) and treated wood. Another important attribute of this type of construction is it’s noise reduction characteristic, which gives our homes a unique sense of interior tranquility, the construction techniques utilized are specifically designed to meet and exceed building code standards. Our homes are earthquake and noise resistant, the natural composition and construction of the walls, allow the homes to maintain a constant and very comfortable temperature year round, without the need of heating or air conditioning.
